Help Us To Recover Mel's Travel Costs

Hi everyone.

As some of you may know, one of our nurses Mel is stuck in South Africa at present due to the outbreak of the Omicron variant of Covid-19.

After not seeing her family for over 2 years due to Covid-19. After travel restrictions were finally lifted, Mel got a flight out to South Africa, however after just 8 days, South Africa was declared a red list country without notice. After attempting to board an emergency flight home, Mel was declined travel due to covid restrictions changing between the time of booking and boarding, losing her over £1500. Fortunately Mel is staying with family however many costs have added up such as failed flights, emergency covid testing and a covid hotel upon eventual return to the UK. At present Mel's costs are nearing £5000 and as a team we want to try and raise as much as we can to help with this.

After an awful time working in the middle of the Covid-19 pandemic as a nurse, Mel deserves to see her family without the severe financial impact it will now have on her.
