Help Us To Help More Animals In Need!

We are appealing to you wonderful people for some help! We hate to ask, as we know everyone is struggling but the smallest amount will make a huge difference in this every challenging rescue situation.

Covid has seen the life in rescue change considerably. Every rescue I know was overwhelmed before covid and now post covid with an estimated 3 million extra pets in the U.K it is beyond crazy.

We are without doubt a nation of animal lovers, but we are also a nation of people who are unconsciously selfish, we get the pet that we want, not the pet that suits our lifestyle!

80% of the animals that come in to our rescue, come in because the owner has not done thorough research about the pet they are about to take on, instead they convince themselves that they know what they are doing and the unsuitable pet will miraculously fit in to their lifestyle because they want it to! Fashion and popularity does not help with this.

The second biggest mistake we make is the purchasing/adopting of the pet, you would not believe how many people feel this is the expensive part!! Trust me when I say, hand on hard this is genuinely the cheapest part of owning an animal.

The list goes on, we have people that convinced themselves that they did not need insurance, when really it was because they didn't want to or couldn't pay the monthly premium, sadly when the day comes that the animal is injured or has a long term illness that they can not afford, we get the call to take them in as the owners only option at this point is Euthanasia. At the moment we have seen a huge rise of dogs coming in with skin conditions, most of these are allergy related, most of these are simply sorted with a good quality diet and sadly this is solely because the owners could not afford it.

Finally the animals coming in with behavioral problems has gone up 100%, this means the length of stay in the rescue has increased.

All these factors have dramatically increased the cost of running the rescue and despite all of our fundraising efforts we are struggling to keep up with costs to keep the rescue running at this capacity!
