Help us to build a hospital for the Dalits in India.

Story

Did you know that every hour 5 women die in India during childbirth (as per WHO report)? The number of deaths in India during childbirth accounts for 17 per cent of such deaths globally Every day, thousands of women in India face the daunting reality of childbirth without adequate medical support. In rural and impoverished areas, the lack of access to quality maternity care leads to high rates of maternal and infant mortality. These are not just statistics; these are lives—mothers who are the backbone of their families, and infants who represent the future of our society. IMAGINE a place where every expectant mother receives the care and attention she deserves, regardless of her financial situation. IMAGINE a place where newborns come into the world in a safe, nurturing environment, where their mothers are not only cared for medically but also supported emotionally and socially. IMAGINE not being able to afford essential care for your children, watching your children, die of curable diseases. This is the reality in rural India esp., with the Dalit (untouchable caste) communities. Rural health care is one of biggest challenges India facing. With more than 70 percent of the population living in rural areas and poor health facilities, mortality rates are excessively high. Another challenge is how to pay for the ever-increasing cost of medical care and medicine. Poor people don’t have money to pay for their medical care. Poverty is a major cause for ill health and a barrier to accessing health care when needed. Medical facilities (hospitals) are too far away for the rural village people to travel to. Not getting vehicles on time and traveling long distances are another reason for children and adults to lose their precious lives. This trend can be reversed if there are medical facilities in the rural areas where most of the Indian population lives. Our dream is to set up a 25-bed maternity speciality hospital where everyone will be treated irrespective of poverty, caste and religion. We are building a 16,000 sft hospital. The hospital will have fully equipped departments/wings for OPD, IPD, Gynaecology, Maternity wards, Paediatric, Emergency, Surgery, X Ray/Scan/Diagnostic, Dressing room and ICU. We are building this hospital in Andra Pradesh. We need 100,000 CHF to finish the first phase of the hospital which will be a ground floor with OPD, diagnostics and Emergency departments. We are starting with a fundraiser for 25.000 CHF and doing it in stages. We believe that every mother has the right to a safe delivery and that every child deserves a healthy start in life. Our hospital will offer state-of-the-art medical facilities, staffed by dedicated professionals who share our passion for compassionate care. We will also implement community outreach programs to educate and support families, ensuring that our impact extends beyond the hospital walls. WE CANNOT DO THIS ALONE. We need your help to turn this vision into reality. Your generous contributions will fund the construction and operation of the hospital, the procurement of medical equipment, and the training of healthcare workers. Every donation, no matter the size, brings us one step closer to providing life-saving care to those who need it most. Together, let us build a haven of health, hope, and love for the marginalized in India. As we stand united in this noble cause, may our actions echo the timeless message of our faith – a message that beckons us to love and serve one another. This is not our first project. We have successfully built schools and orphanages in the past. metta muse collaborates with the women leather making artisan group with the same community.
