Help Us Support Spooky Through His Cancer Journey

Spooky has been our best friend and loyal companion since we rescued him and his sister from the shelter at just 7 months old. He’s brought us years of joy, comfort, and unconditional love. Recently, our hearts broke when we discovered a mass on his back paw that turned out to be cancerous.

Spooky was diagnosed with Hemangiosarcoma, a rare and aggressive cancer of the blood vessels that affects only 1–2% of cats. It typically appears in major organs like the liver, lungs, or spleen, but in Spooky’s case, it developed in his paw. We’re sharing his story not just for support, but also to raise awareness—because sometimes, what seems like a benign bump can be something far more serious.

His primary vet performed his first surgery and biopsy, which confirmed the diagnosis. We were then referred to a veterinary oncologist who performed extensive diagnostic tests—chest X-rays, an abdominal ultrasound, and bloodwork. Thankfully, there were no signs the cancer had spread.

To fully remove the remaining tumor and ensure clean margins, a surgical team had to amputate two of Spooky’s digits and remove a nearby lymph node for testing. The surgery was tough, but he’s now on the road to recovery while we await further biopsy and cytology results, hoping for the best.

As we focus on helping our sweet boy heal, we’ve been faced with close to $10,000 in veterinary expenses. For those who know us personally, you know we also recently became first-time homeowners, making this financial burden even heavier.

If you’re able and willing to help in any way—whether by donating, sharing his story, or simply keeping Spooky in your thoughts—we would be deeply grateful. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for your kindness, support, and love for our Spooky.

With love,
Spooky’s family ❤️
