<div>I, Luis Augusto Natera Mata, together with my sister (Romina Natera) and cousins (Sarahi Mata and Gregcis Marino), never imagined we would be in this situation. Our family suffered a devastating loss due to the earthquake that struck Venezuela on Wednesday, June 24, 2026.

<div>Our grandmother, <strong>Rosalía Riveros de Mata</strong>, had a delicate health condition and required constant care. For this reason, she was living in my mother’s apartment in Las Colinas de Catia La Mar, where she received the love and support of her family. With her were my mother, <strong>Rosabel Mata Rivero</strong>(Ochi), my aunt <strong>Mireya Mata Rivero, and Fanny Perez</strong>, the woman who has cared my sister and I since we were kids and since then she is part of our family.

<div>At the moment of the earthquake, my mother <strong>Rosabel </strong>(Ochi), my aunt <strong>Mireya,</strong> and our beloved grandmother <strong>Rosalía </strong>were together. They lost their lives in this tragedy, leaving an immense void in our family and in our hearts.

<div>When the earthquake struck, the building collapsed and everyone was trapped under the rubble.
</div>

<div>Our cousin, <strong>Luis Rafael Mata Cedeño,</strong> was the only member of our family who survived because at that moment he was staying in another home located in the La Paez neighborhood, in Catia La Mar. Despite his deep pain, shock, and the extreme danger of remaining near the rubble, he risked his own life to recover the bodies of our grandmother and my mother (Rosabel) after more than five hours of effort. He is still trying to recover his mother’s body, but the conditions remain extremely dangerous and help has not yet reached that area.

<div><strong>Fanny </strong>survived the collapse, but she suffered fractures in one arm and possibly one leg. Despite her injuries, she has not yet been able to receive medical attention, as many healthcare centers and access roads have collapsed or been severely affected by the emergency.

<div>The hardest part for us is being far from Venezuela and not being able to accompany them or provide physical support during this incredibly painful time. The distance fills us with helplessness while our loved ones face this tragedy almost entirely on their own.

<div>It is important to mention that <strong>the state of La Guaira </strong>has been one of the most affected areas by this disaster in Venezuela. The crisis in this region is extremely urgent, and immediate help is needed for all affected people who are facing loss, damage, and extremely difficult conditions.

<div>That is why we created this fundraiser <strong>to help Luis Rafael and Fanny </strong>cover their most urgent needs during this emergency. The funds raised will be used for:

<li>Food, clean water, and basic necessities

<li>Clothing and essential supplies
</li>
<li>Daily living expenses during this crisis
</li>
<li>Medical care for Fanny as soon as it becomes available

<li>Funeral and burial expenses, and all additional costs to give our grandmother and aunts a dignified farewell. We are still trying to find available funeral services between La Guaira and Caracas to give them the rest they deserve.

<div>We know that no donation can bring back our mother, our aunt, or our grandmother. However, every contribution, no matter how small, will help ease the financial burden left by this tragedy and support Luis Rafael, Fanny, and the people who are physically with them in Venezuela while we try to help from a distance. <div>Nuestro primo, <strong>Luis Rafael Mata Cedeño,</strong> fue el único miembro de nuestra familia que sobrevivió porque en ese momento se encontraba en otra vivienda, ubicada en la urbanización La Paez, en Catia La Mar. A pesar del profundo dolor, del estado de shock y del enorme riesgo que implicaba permanecer entre los escombros, arriesgó su propia vida para recuperar los cuerpos de nuestra abuela y de mi madre (Rosabel) después de más de cinco horas de esfuerzo. Hasta el momento, continúa intentando recuperar el cuerpo de su mamá, pero las condiciones siguen siendo extremadamente peligrosas y la ayuda aún no ha llegado a esa zona.

<div><strong>Fanny</strong> logró sobrevivir al derrumbe, pero sufrió fracturas en un brazo y posiblemente en una pierna. A pesar de sus lesiones, todavía no ha podido recibir atención médica, ya que muchos centros de salud y las vías de acceso se encuentran colapsados o gravemente afectados por la emergencia.

<div>Lo más difícil para nosotros es estar lejos de Venezuela y no poder acompañarlos ni brindarles ayuda física en este momento tan doloroso. La distancia nos llena de impotencia mientras nuestros seres queridos enfrentan esta tragedia prácticamente solos.

<div>Es importante mencionar que <strong>el estado La Guaira</strong> ha sido uno de los más afectados por este desastre en Venezuela. La crisis que se está viviendo en esta zona es de extrema urgencia y se necesita ayuda inmediata para todas las personas afectadas, quienes están enfrentando pérdidas, daños y condiciones muy difíciles.

<div>Por ello hemos creado esta campaña con el propósito de <strong>ayudar a Luis Rafael y a Fanny </strong>a cubrir las necesidades más urgentes durante esta emergencia. Los fondos recaudados serán destinados a:
