After defending the rights of entire forgotten communities in our country, Colombia, José Alvaro Benavidez had to flee to save his life. He put his struggle, his life, in defense of the victims of the armed conflict in Colombia and the human rights of his communities, above his own safety. It is time to give back to him in support of his prompt freedom. This is our turn.

We need your support today with your donation to help José Alvaro stop his deportation to Colombia and protect his life. We do not want another social leader murdered in Colombia, as has happened to hundreds of registered leaders without any guarantee of protection and continued fight for their right to remain in a safe place.
