<div><strong>Josiah has been diagnosed with Severe Combined Immunodeficiency (SCID)</strong>—In August, Josiah will be admitted to the hospital to begin chemotherapy as part of his treatment plan. This is a critical step to prepare his body for a bone marrow transplant that could save his life. He’ll need to stay in the hospital for several months, and during that time I won’t be able to work at all.

<div>Because of how fragile his immune system is, Josiah cannot be around other people at all not even daycare, family, or friends. His life depends on being in a sterile and closely monitored environment for the next year or more.

<div>Due to this, I’ve had to stop working completely to be his full-time caregiver. I’m the only person who can be with him every day to protect his health,
