Help fund investigation into possible Uboat wreck

Hello, I'm Laurence de Mello, an investigative journalist leading a dedicated team, on a mission to unveil the secrets of a mysterious wreck hidden in Argentine waters. The wreck was discovered by the expedition lead investigator in 2022.
STAHL WOLF means 'Steel Wolf' and that is the name we have given to this three phase 'submarine' investigation.

Over the past year, we've poured our hearts into moving this investigative project forward, with everyone involved volunteering their time and expertise. However my investigative partners and I have used up all our available personal resources and now face a critical time-sensitive cash challenge, which we can't overcome alone.

Only days ago, as the current STAHLWOLF project lead, I was left scrambling to find a solution to an unexpected turn, where additional requirements have strained our budget, leaving us short of funds to proceed with a crucial sonar and ROV dive of the wreck, needed in March. I was pointed in the direction of GoFundMe - because we urgently need YOUR support to bridge this gap - to ensure the expedition's continuation and success.

Right Now, we urgently need your help to complete phase 2 of the investigation. In early March 2024, we must deploy a specialized Sonar and ROV (Remote Operational Vehicle) team to gather crucial data on the wreck's exact position in the ocean floor before the waters change. If we miss the March window, all the work we've done so far will be in vain. The sonar and ROV data will enable us to move forward with Phase 3, which is to human dive and irrefutably identify the vessel.

Without revealing too much at this stage, we can say that this wreck may be harboring secrets that could potentially tear the very fabric of 20th-century history as we know it. And for this reason, we have had to remain independent from all government agencies and official resources to conduct this investigation.

Your donation will directly contribute to enabling phase 2 which is the very important pre dive ROV and Sonar recce - all donations will be spent
  • renting the sonar and ROV equipmentplus insurance
  • transporting the equipment from Ushuaia to Necochea 2,777km (see map below)
  • transport and fees for the professional maritime sonar and ROV pilot team. (professionals must be used for legally recognised technical reports)
  • securing a vessel for the five-day investigation ($US165 per hour x 5 days)
  • travel expenses for our forensic specialist diver, *Dr. Fabio Bisciotti - flying from Italy to Argentina and his accommodation, to oversee and direct the sonar and ROV specialists.
  • There are other things needed, however I do not wish to 'blow' the campaign, before hopefully achieving the bare minimun funds required to cover the data retrieval.
(*Dr. Bisciotti our Dive lead, is an expert forensic diver and maritime attorney. Fabio is a consultant to the United States Pentagon and the British Royal Navy, to dive and identify vessels and aircraft lost in the sea during WWI and WWII - such identification of these vessels, not only gives official closure to military inquests, but closure for the families of those lost crew members and pilots even today. We are very lucky to have him on the STAHLWOLF team.)




Phase 2 is pivotal, as it provides crucial data to evaluate and plan for the dangers that our world-leading dive team will face in Phase 3 scheduled for December 2024.

Our exceptional dive team consists of two men and two women (click links to see): Rannva Jørmundsson , Maria Bollerup Alexander Aulicino, and Dr. Fabio Bisciotti . However, without the data and insights gained from Phase 2 ROV & Sonar recce, we cannot proceed to the Phase 3 dive. This is why your support is indispensable. By contributing to the Phase 2 mission, you are ensuring the safety and success of our divers and the continuation of our groundbreaking investigation. Any access funds will go towards Phase 3

If we are successful in financing phase 2, all donors, no matter how small your donation, will be publicly acknowledged as Phase 2 Mission Partners. We will set up a dedicated social media platform so you can actively participate in this mission, with up to the hour updates images and film - witnessing how your donation the history unfold in almost real-time.
