Help Us Shelter Ukraine

Being robbed by the war of their homes and necessities, thousands of Ukrainians are lining up for hours and sometimes days in the freezing cold and rain trying to get their kids and elders to the safety of neighbouring countries. If Australia didn’t welcome me nine years ago, my children and I would be one of those terrified and heartbroken refugees hoping to find shelter elsewhere. If I were one of those mums in the line, I would be so grateful if somebody handed me a warm cup of tea and put a blanket around my children. I would be so thankful to find a roof and food on the other side of the border. Physically I’m not in the line of those desperate Ukrainians today, but my heart is.

Dear friends, I urge you to help me raise money to provide shelter and comfort to those poor women and children of Ukraine who have to flee to safety while their fathers, husbands and brothers are fighting courageously for their land and freedom.

I’m completely blind. I’m flying with my Australian husband and son to Poland to help Ukrainian refugees with anything possible in my power. For example, I’m already in contact with a Polish charity trying to organize a humanitarian corridor to evacuate blind Ukrainians to Poland. They need transport, drivers, etc. Once they arrive in Poland, they will need housing, meals and possibly medical attention. Kids will need comfort and temporary schooling. I want to help. I know you want to help too. I thank you from the bottom of my heart for your support.
