Thank you for taking the time to learn about my project. This will be my first documentary, and it’s a subject deeply personal to me — exploring addiction, recovery, and the spaces in between.

As the sister of an amazing brother who found his way through addiction to the other side, I am honored to share our story. My goal is to shed light on the different paths to recovery, the importance of standing beside those you love, and how every family can discover the approach that best supports healing and hope.

I am graduating this December after going on and off to pursue my degree while raising a family and I’ve almost reached the finish line. While this began as a school project, my award-winning professor has graciously agreed to mentor me as I prepare the film for submission to festivals after completion.

To bring this vision to life, I’ve secured an extremely talented Director of Photography who also has her own personal connection to this subject. Since I will be on camera as well as behind it, her support is essential. Funds raised will go toward her reduced fees (she has generously lowered her rate because she believes in this story), as well as equipment, post-production, and — if there are remaining funds — festival submission and travel costs.

**Update 09/20 I have transferred initial funds to my DP but it has only covered a small portion of her costs so far. Hoping to be able to have additional funds to cover her costs and equipment. I appreciate all who have donated so far to make this happen.
