India has been recording more than 300,000 cases of COVID-19 per day since April 21. Officially, by the end of April, more than 17.9 million infections had been confirmed and more than 200,000 people were dead, but experts said the actual figures were likely much higher. Clinics across the country have reported an acute shortage of hospital beds, medicines, protective equipment and oxygen.
But this is only what is being reported officially. The actual situation on ground is much worse with many cases going unreported.
What is our goal?
We want to send oxygen concentrators, N-95 Masks, oxygen cylinders, personal protective equipment and medicines to the towns and villages in India that may not be benefiting directly from the other larger fund raisers.
Our initial goal of USD 10,000 will allow us to ship 15 oxygen concentrators to India.
We have identified non-profit organizations that are ready to provide highly subsidized transportation of goods and drive distribution to the local recipients.
