I never in a million years plan to be typing this out.

However, god had other plans in store for me.

Sunday night, (12/01/24) my parents tried to escape a house fire at approximately 10:30 pm at their home in Graniteville South Carolina. They made it as far as the front door with my mom on the right side of the door and my dad standing on the left before collapsing due to carbon monoxide.

To death and they still didn’t part.

My parents were pronounced dead at 1:08 am on 12/02/2024. As unexpected this is, we, the children are left unprepared, in shock and a total disbelief!

Both of my parents, William (Bill) Layer & Dorene Layer were loving and caring people. They never seen a stranger. They would give their last to anybody! They didn’t deserve this!!

Our mother didn’t have life insurance. As I prepare to plan 2 funerals I am now trying to figure out how to get my sibling's here to say goodbye to our parents. I have 2 siblings in Oregon and 1 In Arkansas.
