Meet Stevie!
Stevie is a 11 week old rescue from Mississippi. She arrived home just two weeks ago into a loving family. Her parents Alyssa and Bryan have been waiting a long time to add the perfect furry companion to their lives. When they met Stevie, they instantly fell in love. Unfortunately, after just one week with her family, Stevie became sick. She started showing symptoms of parvovirus, which she likely got while traveling to her new home. Canine parvovirus is a highly contagious virus spread from dog to dog by direct or indirect contact with feces. Puppies are most vulnerable before they are fully vaccinated and without treatment mortality can reach 90%. Luckily Stevie is now on day 7 of hospitalization. She has multiple IVs and a NG tube from her nose to her stomach. Her parents love her so so much and are willing to do anything for her. Unfortunately, beating parvovirus as a puppy comes with a big price tag. They will owe at minimum $1500 per day that Stevie is admitted at the hospital. They have pet insurance but are unfortunately still in the waiting period as they just got Stevie, so it will not cover this hospitalization. Alyssa and Bryan want to do everything they can for sweet Stevie. They would appreciate any help paying for Stevie’s bills. We realize there are much worse things happening in the world and much larger causes -especially now- but if you’re a dog lover and feel moved by this story and want to help lighten their financial load, it would be much appreciated. Alyssa and Bryan are genuine, philanthropic people and will make great dog parents if their Stevie makes it home healthy and safe.
