<div>While on holiday at the Samira Resort Hotel, i witnessed something heartbreaking. The hotel had called the local dog pound to remove two stray dogs who had been visiting the grounds.

<div>When the pound arrived, both dogs panicked. In that moment of fear, one terrified little dog ran to me and clung on for dear life. I couldn’t let her go. We have since named her Sami.

<div>Tragically, the other dog wasn’t as lucky and was taken away. Knowing Sami’s life was in danger, I got her away from the hotel and to a place of safety. The following day, I checked out of the hotel and continued my holiday elsewhere — because I couldn’t stay at a hotel that treats animals in such a way.

<div>The truth is, local pounds are not nice places. Many dogs never make it out once they are taken there. Sami would have faced a terrifying, uncertain future if I hadn’t intervened.

<div>That moment changed everything for us. We never set out to bring another dog into our lives, but Sami chose us, and we are determined to save her life.
