My name is Ella Nayor and I am a long term board member for the Laboratory Theater in Fort Myers. We are a community theater that for nearly 20 years has been dedicated to showcasing first-run theatrical performances, thought provoking shows, events and educational experiences and programming for all ages and stages. We have been blessed to subsidize our annual well-attended summer theater education for students needing support. In addition, the Laboratory Theater of Florida is a go-to for all members of the community to experience award-winning performances and events. But recently, a cascade of situations - including losing access to state and federal arts funding has transpired leaving our beloved theater in a financial lurch. In addition, our new artistic director has been hospitalized for nearly a month and we are still struggling to recover from not being reimbursed from substantial hurricane damage to our education classrooms - which provides income year round to the theater. Many of you reading this have been Lab Theater goers and supporters over the years. We would appreciate if you can help us overcome this rough hurdle and allow us to maintain our vital student programming and support! Many a young actor and actress has opened their wings at the Lab.
