My name is Margeret, and I’m reaching out on behalf of my household—myself, my fiancé Josiah, our loving cat, and our sweet pit bull. Recently, our landlord raised the rent, and in a panic, we both searched for jobs that promised more stability. I’m a server, and Josiah works in a factory. While the jobs we found looked promising on paper, they still haven’t been enough to keep us afloat.

We’re now two months behind on rent and have received our first eviction notice. Every day, we’re hustling—working whatever jobs we can and searching for something better. The fear of losing our home is overwhelming, especially when I think about Josiah, who’s doing everything possible to keep us together, and our pets, who are truly part of our family. Our cat and pit bull mean the world to us, and I can’t imagine them ending up in a shelter.

I created this fundraiser in hopes that, especially during the holidays, someone might have a little extra kindness to share. The funds we raise will go directly to paying what we owe in rent, and if we’re lucky enough to receive more, it will help us with bills and moving costs toward a forever home.
