Help us save Caramelo!

Last Sunday, we found this sweet street dog limping in the road, his back leg hanging helplessly. When I walked up to him, he looked at me with trusting eyes. I couldn't leave him in the street with his destroyed leg. He even let me pick him up without hesitation, as if he knew we were there to help. The next day we took him to the vet and found out his leg is completely shattered and needs to be amputated.

We’ve contacted every rescue, shelter, and vet in Mérida, but the need here is overwhelming and no one has space to take him in.

The first quote for the amputation we got was heartbreakingly high, and after recently paying for our own dog’s unexpected surgery as well as other major expenses, we just can’t afford it. Thankfully today, we finally found another kind vet who’s willing to do the surgery for a much lower price. We only need $300 more to give Caramelo this chance.

He’s on pain medication for now, but he’s still hurting and needs this surgery as soon as possible. Despite everything he’s been through, Caramelo is so gentle and loving. He deserves a chance at a happy, pain-free life.

Please help us help Caramelo. Every bit of support truly makes a difference.
