Help Us Save and Rehome Iggy
Donation protected
Life on a cattle farm can be tough, especially for dogs like Iggy. At just six months old, this Catahoula x Border Collie pup has already faced more challenges than most dogs see in a lifetime. She was meant to be a working dog, but when she didn’t meet the farmers expectations, she was on the verge of being “put down.”
Iggy’s situation was heartbreaking. She wasn’t being treated well, and without going into details, it was clear she needed to be removed from that environment for her safety and well-being. Ben was on the farm for a job this past week and couldn’t bear to leave her behind.
For us, saving Iggy is deeply personal. We recently lost our own beloved dog to cancer, and while we’re still recovering emotionally and financially from her medical bills, we couldn’t turn our backs on Iggy. She deserves a chance at the happy, love-filled life every dog should have.
Sadly, life hasn't been kind to her, removing her was the best and only option.
What Makes Iggy So Special
Iggy is one of the sweetest, smartest dogs. She’s a mix of two incredible breeds:
• Catahoula Leopard Dog, known for their loyalty, adaptability, and keen intelligence.
• Border Collie, one of the smartest breeds in the world, with boundless energy and a love for learning.
Iggy is already showing just how smart she is:
- She’s toilet trained and knows basic commands like “sit,” “stay,” and “come.
- She travels in the car just fine, although she’s used to being in the tray of a Ute.
- She is very submissive and allows you to check her gums ears and paws with 0 resistance.
- She’s incredibly observant and eager to learn, soaking up new experiences like a sponge.
But she’s still figuring out how to just be a dog. She’s cautious but curious, slowly discovering toys (she’s a bit scared of sticks) and learning to love the beach (waves are a work in progress). She’s good with other dogs and loves being part of the pack, but she’s also a soft soul who needs a home that will nurture her.
What Iggy Needs
To give Iggy the life she deserves, we need to:
• Transport her from Bundaberg to Sydney so we can foster her.
• Cover her medical expenses, including vaccinations, desexing, and general care.
• Provide her with foster care while we search for her perfect forever home.
We’re looking for an experienced dog owner who understands the energy and intelligence of her breeds. She’ll thrive with someone who leads an active lifestyle and can provide her with plenty of mental and physical stimulation, along with the love and security she’s missed so far.
How You Can Help
We’re asking for your help to cover the costs of giving Iggy a fresh start. Your donations will go toward her transport, vet bills, and fostering expenses.
If donating isn’t an option, sharing her story will go a long way in helping us find her the perfect home.
Iggy’s story could have ended tragically, but we are confident that we can give her the happy life she deserves.
Thank you for taking the time to read about Iggy. We’re so grateful for any help you can give—whether it’s a donation, a share, or even helping us find her forever family.
