 In just a few weeks, thousands of chickens will be brought into New York City for the annual Kaporos ritual. Many will spend hours crowded into tiny crates without food or water before being swung over people's heads in a religious ceremony and sent to slaughter.

 But for hundreds of these birds, there is another possibility.
</div>

 <br>
</div>
<div>
 <strong>Rescue.</strong>
</div>
<div>
 <br>
</div>
<div>
 For more than 12 years, our team has been on the ground during Kaporos, providing emergency care, documenting conditions, rescuing as many birds as possible, and giving them something they have never known:

 <strong>A chance to live.</strong>
</div>
<div>
 <br>
</div>
<div>
 We've watched terrified chickens take their first steps on grass. We've seen injured birds recover, make friends, bask in the sun, and finally learn that human hands can bring comfort instead of fear.

 Last year alone, we helped rescue over 200 birds. This year, we want to save even more.
</div>

 But we need your help before the rescue can even begin.

 Every rescue requires transportation, veterinary care, quarantine, testing, food, crates, bedding, emergency supplies, and a network of foster homes and sanctuaries ready to receive these birds.

 Without funding, we cannot put rescuers on the ground. We cannot transport the birds. We cannot save lives.
