Help Us Honor the Life of Maria Bey

Welcomed into the arms of the angels early on May 21st, we lost someone incredibly special. Maria Bey passed away after a very short but courageous battle with stage 4 lung cancer. She was just 44 years old.

Maria was diagnosed only a week prior and while she and her fiancé Jesse, along with her family, were ready to fight with everything they had, things moved too quickly. Her health declined suddenly and with such power that it was clear she was being called to rest with the Lord. Maria’s passing has left all of us shocked and heartbroken.

If you knew Maria, you knew how strong she was—inside and out. She had the brightest blue eyes, a beautiful smile, and a presence that made any room feel lighter. She was a kind, and caring soul… deeply loved by so many.

Maria worked as a bartender at Downey’s House, where she made countless friends and memories over the years. She was very proud to be an “Aunt Ria” to her nieces and nephews. She was a constant presence in their lives and shared stories about them often. She has sisters and parents she loved fiercely. She loved her two dogs, Lucy and Lidia, like they were her children. And above all, she loved Jesse and her family with her whole heart.

I have created this GoFundMe because so many people have reached out asking how they can help. The funds raised will go toward Maria’s medical expenses, funeral costs, and to give her loved ones some peace during this overwhelming time.

Maria meant a lot to all of us, and we want to honor her memory in a way that reflects the love and strength she showed every day.
