Hello! We are Doctor of Physical Therapy students from Concordia University, Class of 2027. Some of us volunteer at GiGi’s Playhouse, an achievement center that offers free, purposeful programs for individuals with Down syndrome of all ages—from infants to adults.
GiGi’s provides a wide range of programs that support skill development in areas such as cooking, art, music, exercise, literacy, math, speech and language, dance, professional development, money management, and more. These programs empower individuals with Down syndrome to build confidence and thrive in everyday life.
Our class runs a program at GiGi’s called Leaps and Bounds, which focuses on gross and fine motor development, social-emotional skills, and peer interaction through a fun, play-based structure.
During our time volunteering, we noticed that the Little Free Library outside the GiGi’s facility is in poor condition. The door is rotted and there is water damage, limiting access for the children and families who use it.
We’re currently holding a book drive to offer a wider variety for the community. However, we also need funds to repair and rebuild the Little Library itself, so it can continue to serve the community for years to come.
We’re reaching out for your support—any donation, big or small, helps us restore this wonderful resource for the children and families at GiGi’s Playhouse.
Thank you for considering a donation to our project. Your generosity will go a long way in helping us make a lasting impact!
