Sophie’s ultra run for Rattlesden Preschool
Donation protected
Rattlesden Preschool is excited to share its next fundraising challenge! One of our amazing parents and dedicated Chair of our committee, Sophie Seward, will be embarking on a truly grueling challenge this summer called the Suffolk Back Yard Ultra, which takes place on 1st June.
Rattlesden Preschool is a registered charity, run on a non-profit basis by a volunteer committee and a paid manager and team. The last few years have been a pretty tough time for our Preschool community due to Covid, closures and a decrease in numbers. However, we’re a resilient and determined organisation and have successfully overcome these issues to keep our amazing little Preschool going and allow it to thrive. We have made a few changes in recent years, including opening 5 days a week, offering a breakfast club in the mornings and introducing a forest style session every week. With this, our numbers are already increasing. But with the increase in hours, staffing and resources, our costs are higher than they have ever been. We rely heavily on fundraising and donations and now, more than ever, we need to raise vital funds to ensure we can continue giving our children the best preschool education possible.
Sophie’s Suffolk Back Yard Ultra challenge will see her commence a lap on the hour every hour and have to run and complete a 4.167 mile trail route in that time. She must run the loop and be back ready to start the next loop or she’ll be out, the race continues until there is only one person who can complete a loop that nobody else completes within the hour.
They are the then Winner of the Suffolk Back Yard Ultra Challenge!
We understand times are tough for everyone but if you can, please do consider sponsoring Sophie in her challenge, as much or as little as you can, every penny helps our Preschool in many ways.
