**This campaign has ended. Thank you for donating!**

Reading is critical to student success both in school and beyond. But right now, many students are learning from home with limited access to classroom or public libraries. To help get books into the hands of more kids and support at-home reading, we’re hosting a digital book drive for Minneapolis schools!

Magers & Quinn Booksellers, in partnership with Reading Partners, is raising money to purchase diverse books for students in our community. All of the funds raised will be used to purchase books, and these books will be distributed to students at the following schools: Ascension Catholic School, Bethune Community School, Lyndale Elementary, and Hiawatha Leadership Academy.

For those of you who aren’t familiar with us, Magers & Quinn  is an independently owned new and used bookseller located in the heart of the Uptown neighborhood in Minneapolis. Our collection covers all subjects and features many unusual and hard-to-find editions, as well as thousands of current releases. We also love working with educators and young readers to help nurture an appreciation for books and reading.

Reading Partners  is a national nonprofit that mobilizes communities to provide students with the proven, individualized reading support they need to read at grade level by fourth grade. They know that reading is the foundation for all future learning. The ability to read transforms lives and empowers children and communities to reach their full potential. Research shows that students who read at grade level by fourth grade have a greater opportunity to succeed in school and beyond.

Which is why Reading Partners works with under-resourced schools and engages volunteer reading partners to work one-on-one with students who struggle with reading. Their volunteers provide hour-long tutoring sessions to students— following a structured, evidence-based curriculum developed with an expert team of curriculum advisors.

Reading Partners has also begun virtual tutoring with a new program called Reading Partners Connects. This program will allow Reading Partners to continue to serve students in a remote environment using their evidence-based curriculum. Reading Partners Connects takes their proven literacy intervention model into a virtual space to provide students with high-quality literacy tutoring in a variety of non-traditional learning environments. Content will incorporate their trusted curriculum skills and lessons in innovative presentations to optimize student engagement and incorporate social-emotional learning (SEL) opportunities through relationship-building with tutors. As Reading Partners plans for scenarios during the upcoming school year in which they cannot bring volunteers into schools or are limited in the number of sessions possible due to social distancing, distance tutoring through Reading Partners Connects will allow them to continue supporting students' literacy needs.

Thank you for supporting literacy in our community!
