<li><strong>Astonishing biodiversity</strong>: prey birds, bears, wolves, highly endangered bats, otters, and a score of other animals and insects. <strong>Over 140 of these are </strong><a href="https://docs.google.com/document/d/1M_MWLipik0fH0xknv3KgRRUjhnxeQWKm/edit?usp=sharing&amp;ouid=114601356095785105029&amp;rtpof=true&amp;sd=true" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">classified as rare and protected</a>, but the list is far from exhaustive!

<li><strong>A lynx population</strong>, that includes <strong>Rista</strong> – seen in the photos below from 2023 after Rista was released back to the wild after recovering from an injury.

<div><strong>Why we need your help:</strong>
</div>

<li>Areas such as <strong>Homolje</strong> are essential for <strong>diminishing the negative impacts of the climate change catastrophe </strong>that is affecting our Nature-depleted world.
</li>
<li>Catastrophically, <strong>the Serbian government has allowed several multinational gold mining companies to carry out mining exploration in Homolje</strong>, showing no concern about their impacts on Nature. Canadian <strong>Dundee Precious Metals</strong> (with a history of <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sk8oyZ674h0" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">appalling environmental and human rights record</a> in Armenia) holds <strong>four exploration licences stretching over several hundred square kilometres! Open-pit mines could replace the lush Nature of Homolje!</strong>
</li>
<li><strong>The plans for opening the first gold mine are at an advanced stage</strong>. Unless we stop it, it will open in 2026 and involve a series of open pits, as well as the <strong>use of toxic cyanide-based chemicals</strong>. <strong>This would be a disaster for Homolje and its Nature</strong>.
</li>
<li>The mine also poses<strong> a serious threat to the Vlach national minority</strong>. The Vlach communities will see their land expropriated and their traditional livelihoods destroyed. <strong>The nearest pit will be only 3 km from the nearest Vlach village. </strong>
</li>
<li>To stop the opening of the mine and further explorations, <strong>we must continue our legal battle against Dundee</strong>. But the legal fees are becoming more and more expensive and <strong>we simply cannot carry on anymore without your help</strong>. The estimated yearly fee is €20,500, but it is likely to be more than this.

<li><strong>We are part of a dedicated group of activists who are fighting against the opening of this, and any other, mine that might threaten Homolje, its Nature and its people.</strong> Some of us live locally, some of us around the world, but we are all determined to save Homolje, which is our home too.

<div>Neverovatan biodiverzitet: ptice grabljivice, medvedi, vukovi, visoko ugroženi slepi miševi, vidre i niz drugih životinja i insekata. <a href="https://docs.google.com/document/d/1M_MWLipik0fH0xknv3KgRRUjhnxeQWKm/edit" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Preko 140 vrsta biljaka i životinja je klasifikova</a>no kao retko i zaštićeno, ali lista se neprestano dopunjava sa novim naučnim saznanjima!

<div>Populacija risa, koja uključuje Ristu – risa sa fotogafija iz 2023. godine, koje prikazuju Ristu nakon što je pušten nazad u divljinu posle oporavka od povrede.

<div>•	Područja kao što je Homolje su od suštinskog značaja za smanjenje negativnog uticaja katastrofalnih klimatskih promena koje utiču na sve veće osiromašenje prirode u svetu.

<div>•	Van svake pameti, Vlada Srbije je dozvolila da nekoliko multinacionalnih kompanija sprovodi istraživanje potencijalnih nalazišta zlata u Homolju, ne pokazujući nikakvu zabrinutost za uticaj tih istraživanja na prirodu.

<div>Kanadski Dundee Precious Metals (<a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sk8oyZ674h0" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">koji ima neslavnu prošlost ugrožavnja životne sred</a>ine i ljudskih prava u Jermeniji) poseduje četiri dozvole za istraživanje. Područje njihovog istraživanja se prostire na nekoliko stotina kvadratnih kilometara!

<div>Površinski kopovi mogli bi zameniti bujnu prirodu Homolja!

<div>•	Planovi za otvaranje prvog rudnika zlata su u poodmakloj fazi. Ukoliko ne zaustavimo rudnik, otvaranje je predviđeno za 2026. godinu i uključiće niz otvorenih kopova, kao i upotrebu toksičnih hemikalija na bazi cijanida.

<div>Otvaranje rudnika bi bila prava katastrofa za Homolje i prirodu Homolja.

<div>•	Rudnik predstavlja ozbiljnu opasnost i za Vlašku nacionalnu manjinu. Vlaškim zajednicama će biti eksproprisana zemlja i uništen tradicionaln način života. Najbliži iskop rudnika biće udaljen samo 3 km od najbližeg vlaškog sela.

<div>•	Da bismo zaustavili otvaranje rudnika i dalja istraživanja, moramo da nastavimo našu pravnu borbu protiv Dandija. Pravni troškovi rastu i mi jednostavno ne možemo više da nastavimo bez vaše pomoći. Procenjena godišnja naknada je 20.500 evra, sa uvećanjem za inflaciju.
