Who are we?

Cicadian Rhythm zine is a poetry zine that accepts submissions from Mississippi writers. We don’t charge for submissions, and the zine is free. The zine is handmade, hand-collaged, and hand assembled. Our Spring issue launches on June 29th, 2025!

What are we requesting?

A Brother HL-L3280CDW Wireless Compact Digital Color Printer. This high-yield printer can print double-sided pages without manual flipping quickly, in color.

Why do you need it?

Need is a strong word. This printer would make printing the zine quick, easy, and cost-free (aside from toner and paper, of course). With this resource, we can also help print other community zines. A printer for Mississippi, from Mississippi.

What will you do with the money?

Buy a printer! The printer is currently $299,99 plus tax. Any excess money will go toward paper and toner, to keep costs low. We are seeking grant funding and other resources (our pockets) for these expendable materials, but they don’t cover machines.

Can I have a copy of the zine?

Well, of course! Anyone who donates can request 5 copies of the zine* and we will mail or hand-deliver them to you at no cost. Also, all donors will be specially thanked in the zine (and in our hearts).

*this entitles you to 5 copies of all future zine issues as well! Not just the upcoming. Free zines for life!
