<div>Cancer remains one of humanity’s most difficult medical challenges. Despite enormous advances in diagnosis and treatment, there is still much we do not understand about why tumors form, how they interact with the body, and what role they may play in the progression of cancer.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div><strong>Toxin Sequestration Theory (TST)</strong> proposes a different way of looking at cancer. Developed and named by Dr. Patrick Coles, TST explores the possibility that tumors may form, at least in part, as the body attempts to isolate or sequester harmful substances. It is an intriguing hypothesis—but a hypothesis is only a beginning. TST needs to be tested.

<div><strong>This GoFundMe campaign has an initial goal of $85,000 to establish the organizational and scientific foundation needed to begin that work. </strong>The funds will help establish Methuselean Research, a research company dedicated initially to the scientific investigation of TST, together with a nonprofit organization that will hold its Class A shares. They will also support the legal, accounting, insurance, and administrative infrastructure required to operate responsibly; scientific consultation and development of initial research protocols; identification of laboratories and other resources capable of performing the necessary testing; and preparation of grant applications and other efforts to obtain funding for the research itself.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>The $85,000 goal is <strong>not intended to fund the entire research program or establish a laboratory.</strong> Rather, it is intended to establish the organizations, develop a scientifically credible research plan, and put Methuselean Research in a position to pursue grants and other funding for specimen collection, laboratory testing, personnel, equipment, and subsequent phases of research.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Methuselean Research may work with other organizations, laboratories, and researchers as the project develops. Funds raised through this campaign will be used only for purposes that directly support the establishment and development of the TST research program, as described above, and the effort to determine whether the evidence supports—or disproves—TST.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>If TST proves incorrect, careful research can help establish that. However, if it proves even partly or substantially correct, it could potentially reveal revolutionary new directions for understanding and treating cancer.
