Help Us Pay Clara's Vet Bills

Clara (the sweet ginger kitty pictured) started acting unwell and wasn't using the litter box. We called our regular vet, who didn't have any available appointments and advised us to take her to the emergency vet. We knew the emergency vet is a bit more expensive, but Clara is an absolute sweetheart  and she's worth it.

So we took her to MedVet  ...  and got much worse news than we expected. Clara has megacolon, which is a terrible name for a supervillain but is an even worse medical condition.

Clara's going in for emergency surgery as I type this, and she might be in the animal hospital for a day or more. The surgery estimate is $1500, and every day she's inpatient there is another $1500. The vet is asking for a deposit of $3000 and estimates the full cost might be $4200 or more.

Yikes.

But we couldn't look Clara in the eye and tell her that she's too expensive to live. She's been so helpful when we wrap Christmas presents!

And she really loves her little sister.

The good news is that once she's out of immediate danger, we have every expectation that she'll be able to live a long, healthy life after this.
