Help Us Paint a Save Our Salmon Mural!

Tax deductible
About the Project: Artist Austin Picinich will be painting a 188-foot mural in Lake Forest Park with the community's help! We will host a "Community Paint Day" on September 10, 2022, to create this beautiful mural and help raise awareness about the plight of salmon in our streams. There are many costs associated with painting a mural of this size, any help you can give is greatly appreciated! All donations are tax-deductible to The Lake Forest Park Stewardship Foundation for this project and to support North Lake Washington Salmon Watchers.

"A Mural with a Purpose" - Raising Awareness for Salmon

Location: Near Animal Acres Park in Lake Forest Park, McAleer Creek crosses underneath NE 178th St. During the stream culvert replacement project several years ago, two concrete barricades were built that hide McAleer Creek from those walking or driving by.

Our goal is to remind people there are salmon and wildlife in the stream directly below the road. This is a terrific location for public art to brighten up the community and raise awareness for salmon, stream ecology and the need to protect our local waterways.

You can follow the project at https://www.austinsart.net/salmonmural/LFP , our website website and follow and like the Stewardship Foundation on facebook and instagram.
