I am a young mother doing everything I can to protect my 7-year-old son. After living peacefully in our apartment for seven years, our lives changed when new neighbors moved in and the building quickly became infested with roaches. Despite my repeated requests, the landlord has refused to help, and the situation has become unbearable. My son is scared and frightened to live there. We’ve had to stay with family members, which has disrupted his routine and sense of security.

I have reached out to several agencies for help, but all of them have either run out of funding or do not serve the area where we are moving. My family members are also struggling financially and are unable to assist. I have finally found a new apartment where my son and I can live safely, but I need help covering the security deposit to move in.

My son has already faced so much—he lost his father to brain cancer, and he deserves a safe and stable home. Moving will allow us to return to a normal routine and give us both peace of mind.
