Help Me Move My Dad Back Home to Michigan

For the past 10 years, I have been my dad’s primary caregiver since his stroke in 2015. It’s been a challenging journey, and through it all, one thing has remained constant—his wish to move back home, where he can be surrounded by familiar faces and family support.

My dad is a veteran, and he has long wanted to return to Michigan. (We are currently in North Carolina). Recently, an apartment became available for him in a facility that will provide the care he needs. This is an opportunity we cannot miss, but unfortunately, we don’t have the funds to make this move happen on our own.

A period of unemployment, due to a layoff, has left me without the savings needed to cover the costs of this move. Between moving costs, transportation, deposits, and setting him up in his new place, the expenses add up quickly.
