<div>On November 4th, 2021 we found out that there was a mom in our social circle who needed to find adoptive parents for her unborn baby.

<div>We offered to take the baby.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>And 2 days later, Evalyn was born.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>

<div>The process to adopt is very expensive. We've spent almost $15k in the last year just going through the legal process. 
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>We are now in the home stretch, but to finalize her adoption, we need to come up with probably close to another $5k. 
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>There's a $2,250 fee due to the State of California. 
</div>
<div>Then there's a past due balance of over $1,000 with the lawyer. 
</div>
<div>And then there's future lawyer fees we'll need to pay to wrap it up.
</div>

</div>

<div>Karla and I were in the middle of moving to Nashville when the opportunity very suddenly came up to adopt a child.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>We didn't know the gender.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>We didn't even know the due date.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>But we met the birth mom within a day of learning of this need...

<div>...and she went into labor the next morning.

<div>We were scrambling to get to the hospital in time when we realized...we didn't have a name.

<div>And while we didn't "know" it was a girl...we knew.
</div>

<div>I told Karla, "I really like the name Evie."
</div>

</div>
<div>And she said, "well, that sounds like a nickname. What's that short for?"
</div>

</div>
<div>In her mind, she pictures "Evalyn".
</div>

</div>
<div>Pulled out her phone.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Googled the meaning.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>And instantly gasped as her hand leap to cover her mouth in shock.

<div>"What?? What's it mean?" I knew it was significant...
</div>

</div>
<div>Karla looks at me...and almost whispers...
</div>

</div>
<div>"Evalyn means 'wished for child'".
</div>

</div>
<div>Awe washed over us at the incredible plans God has written long ago that were now making themselves known...

<div>Hours later, she was born. 
</div>

<div>And she's been our "wished for child" ever since.
