Help Us Keep an Internet Cafe in Yemen Running

I am an American, and I have a friend, Mohammed, who I've known since 2017. He lives in Yemen and has been able to set up an internet cafe despite the ongoing civil war, the power outages, and the ongoing shortages of pretty much everything. The internet cafe is still struggling and needs financial assistance. While the estimated cost of everything they're trying to get is $3,000, any amount we can raise will be helpful. Currently, sites like Go Fund Me are unavailable in Yemen, but Western Union still operates there, and all donations will be sent directly to Mohammad via Western Union. Mohammad and his friends have put a lot of effort into creating this internet cafe to help his community, and we hope that he can continue to do so with your help.

Below is a message from Mohammad:

We run a small local internet cafe called "Power Net" in Yemen. Our main goal in these tough times is to entertain our community and bring people together. Because of constantly rising diesel prices, we are in a tough spot at the moment, but we love what we do and won't give up so easily.

Sadly, our funds are limited and due to constant blackouts on many days, (which often last most of the day), times are tough. It also doesn't help that the local currency has only a fifth of its value from before the war started in 2015. But through it all we are staying positive, and we hope that you will be kind enough to lend us a hand if you have anything to spare. If not, sharing our fundraiser would still be highly appreciated.

All donations will go directly towards our internet cafe. Our main priority is buying an UPS, batteries, and solar panels so we can keep our lights on despite the blackouts. Any additional money we receive will go towards motor repair costs, harddrives for the server, new headphones, keyboards, screens, and GPUs.
