Help us help Rosey

This is my niece, Rosey.  I am helping her parents by creating this GoFundMe campaign on their behalf.  Any funds raised will be sent directly to the family.  Here is the story from her mother, Emily:

On March 20th, 2018,  sweet Roselina, only 9 years old, had to have a liver biopsy performed.  She had been exhibiting different symptoms for a couple of months, but nothing that we thought was serious, until March 16th when we noticed she was starting to look jaundice.  She was not sick prior-- it came out of nowhere and surprised all of us. That was the day our journey began. 

Unfortunately, as numerous blood tests and the biopsy confirmed, our baby girl was diagnosed with Autoimmune Hepatitis. 

Autoimmune Hepatitis (AIH) is a progressive inflammatory liver disorder that is very rare in children and adolescents.  It is particularly aggressive in children, and progresses rapidly unless immunosuppressive treatment is begun promptly.

There is no known medical cure for this condition.  However, medicine and treatments can effectively control this disease.  But the cost for the medicine is very high, and not all tests and treatments are covered through insurance.

We live in an extremely rural area, so travel for these tests and doctors appointments is becoming a huge financial burden. The lab for blood work is 30 miles away, her follow up appointments with the  pediatric GI specialist is 105 miles and even just running to the pharmacy is 20 miles!
 
Not only is our sweet Rosebud dealing with all of this, but she also must be home schooled for now until the disease goes into remission. If you know Rosie, she absolutely adores school. This is not easy for her, but there's a very high risk of infection and illness while taking an immunosuppressant.  Also, being on steroids has made her behavior far from normal and has put much more stress on her little body.

She has been so strong and brave through this process thus far. Her spirit is so beautiful-- she has such a positive song in her heart. Her energy and ability to cope with this is motivation for all of us to stay positive and focus on all the good, not the bad.
