Refugees in the Balkans need help. Four years into the European Refugee Crisis, and there is less support and media coverage than ever. Every day, people are beaten on the borders of Europe, forced to sleep outside, going without food.
The refugee crisis has been tragically politicized when the reality is quite simple: fellow human beings need us to stand up for them. The narrative has been defined by hatred and fear. Collective Aid stands in direct opposition to this neglect and demonization.
For nearly two years now, I have worked with hundreds of volunteers from all across the globe who know we have to do better. Over 500,000 meals, tens of thousands of essential non-food items, and hours upon hours of engaging activities and classes later, we're just getting started.
I've seen the power of people coming together for the most basic shared belief: we have to take care of each other.
We're a small team. All volunteers. Most of us don't have any experience doing this sort of thing. Our budgets are tight. There's so much work to be done. When you give to Collective Aid, your money goes directly into projects to help real people. No huge marketing budgets or salaries.
Will you join us?
**I am the director of Collective Aid, and will transfer this money directly to the organization's bank account. We are using this campaign on our social media campaigns and website due to some issues with the organization's PayPal**
