Hi, my name is Kathleen Clark, aka Katie, and I’m reaching out on behalf of my family to ask for support during one of the most difficult times in our lives.
Our Father is a true hero. Leon Cahill became a lieutenant at just 17 years old for Abington Fire and Rescue in Pennsylvania, then went on to serve two tours in Vietnam. After the military, he dedicated his life to public service, working as an Electrical Engineer and later also Volunteer Civil Service with the Oxford Police Department.
He’s always put others first. Now, he needs help.
Our Pops was diagnosed with dementia and had already begun struggling with daily life. Then, a recent surgery led to unexpected and devastating complications. He suffered multiple strokes and is now paralyzed on the right side of his body. His condition requires around-the-clock care, therapy, and a safe, stable environment, and right now, we’re fighting to keep that for him.
We’ve fallen behind on bills. We are now at risk of losing our home - the place where he feels the most secure and we want to keep him surrounded by love and family.
We’re humbly asking for help to:
• Catch up on critical bills and prevent losing our home
• Support his medical needs, including rehabilitation and home care
• Make necessary modifications to our house for his safety and comfort
Our Pops gave so much to his community, and now we hope our community - near and far - can come together to give a little back to him. Every donation helps, and even just sharing this means the world to us.
Thank you for standing with us and helping give our Pops the dignity, care, and peace he deserves.
With gratitude,
The Cahill Family
