Help Us Help Earl

Earl was involved in a head-on motorcycle accident on 29 September 2019 while riding his motorcycle with a group of friends. A vehicle traveling towards the group crossed the double yellow line and hit Earl and another rider head on.  Earl has suffered the following injuries: Broken right big toe, broken left wrist, perforated bladder, broken and dislocated pelvis and multiple cuts and scratches.  

Earl has a lengthy recovery ahead of him. Earl has had surgery for his wrist and his pelvis. He has screws and plates installed in his wrist  He has external pelvic fixation device holding his pelvic bones in place to heal.  He will require additional pelvic surgery to remove the external fixation and put permanent screws, pins and plates in place.  He will remain in Ocala Regional Medical Center until he is medically cleared by his doctors for acute rehabilitation.  Jen is working with his case manager to get him transferred to a long-term rehabilitation center closer to home once he is released.  Earl has been told it will be at least three to six months before he is able to walk again unassisted, due to the pelvic fracture. 

As most of you know, Earl shoulders the majority of the financial wellbeing for his family.  He will be out of work for up to 6 months.  As you can imagine, the wellbeing of his family is weighing heavily on him.  I am hoping to be able to help Earl, Jen and Ryan out with the day to day expenses of traveling to Ocala and the mounting medical bills that have already started arriving.
