Help us have our dream wedding day.

Myself and Andy met years ago and it was definitely love at first sight. When you know you know .

Our relationship moved quite quickly and we knew we wanted to be together for the rest of our lives and with that we got engaged. We spent a few months enjoying life and we wereso so happy. Then our lives were turned upside down. Andy was diagnosed with testicular cancer. The wedding was firmly put on hold. His treatment was quick and intense and he spent a few months recovering and dealing mentally with everything that had happened. We were extremely fortunate that when we found out he had cancer we also found out we were expecting which was a blessing in disguise ❤️. All was good, we had a beautiful son and another baby on the way.

When our beautiful baby girl was 8 weeks oldour lives were turned upside down once again. The cancer was back only it was now in the lymph nodes. Andy started intense chemotherapy which continued for 9 weeks. I very quickly had to become a carer whilst also looking after the brood. It was beyond tough. He was completely unable to work and I was on maternity leave. Times were really tough for us. Some months I didn’t know how we would survive. We were left devestated when we found out the chemo hadn’t worked and he would need surgery to remove tumours. He was so weak from the chemo. He went ahead and had the surgery. The surgery itself went well however the following day his health started to go downhill. It transpired he had sepsis, then he had a massive blood clot in his kidney and part of his kidney died due to having no blood or oxygen, they gave him medication to try and dissolve the clot to save the remaining part and that caused internal bleeding, the list just goes on he was so unwell and ended up in ICU for a week and then a further week on a regular ward. I travelled everyday to Leicester hospital to be with him. When he was finally discharged it wasn’t long before he was back in due to an infection in his incision. 10 weeks he battled that. Everyday for 10 weeks he had to travel to the doctors to have his wound cleaned and dressed it was exhausting.

You can imagine our dismay when we were informed they hadn’t gotten all the tumours and that they had discovered some in his neck. Fast forward one failed neck surgery and one successful neck surgery we get to here today.

2 weeks ago we thought we were in the clear so we finally did it we booked our wedding. The excitement amongst us and our families. It feels surreal. Then our lives come crashing down around us again to discover a tumour left in his stomach has started growing and it needs to be removed. There’s no alternative to surgery. It’s in a difficult place and the surgery is dangerous. We are left devestated as we know it means Andy will be off work for 2 months and my shifts will be limited in order to care for him. We are going to struggle to just survive never mind pay for the wedding we have just booked for July 2020.

This is why we are reaching out and asking for help. We just want to marry one another. We have had such a hard, petrifying ride and we just want this special day together but we are going to have to cancel it because of this surgery. Andy has just gone back to work this month from being off for a year. We just want this beautiful moment together because we just don’t know what lies ahead.

Thank you if you’ve gotten to here and thank you if you decide to donate and help us have our dream day together. X
