Our Blue Hill Consolidated School's A Chess Team is the Runner Up in the State of Maine Chess Championship for the second year running! We are a small rural school (264 kids) in Down East Maine and we are so proud of what the team of seven has achieved.
Now we need to raise enough money to send two 7th and five 8th grade students (6 boys and a girl) to Atlanta for an amazing intellectual challenge. They need their coach, teacher and some parents, flights, hotel rooms and registration fees. The families will pay for the food and all other expenses. Please help us help our children excel. We know that chess is the Emperor of Games and so good for the development of our children's minds, especially in this digital age.
We are working very hard in a three week time frame to raise over $8000. Parents and the kids are organizing bake sales, dinners, letter writing campaigns, chess matches and donation drives. Please help us show these kids how much we value their intellectual development so they can go to Atlanta. Help us fund their chess dreams. This really can change seven important lives and can show our town we really value this type of achievement. Thank you so much.
