<div>My mother had three children. I am one of her two daughters and we had one brother — my mother’s only son. His name was Samuel Davis (“Sammy”) who had his 50th birthday on 1/23/25.

<div>After battling the effects of a debilitating and immobilizing stroke, Sammy suddenly left this life on Friday, 7/18/25. He had been hospitalized and fighting to recover for several months but sadly his condition worsened. What makes this more devastating is that  my mother witnessed Sammy having a stroke as he and my mother were shopping at the grocery store the day after Easter.

<div>Sammy not only left behind my mother, sister, a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins but more heartbreaking is that he also left behind his only son who he loved and cared for very much. He is 12 years old and his name is also Sammy (Jr.), aka SJ.

<div>SJ is his mother’s only son. Of course, this is a huge void in SJ’s life, as he spent much time with his dad and it was vitally important for him to “make his dad proud.”  SJ is very talented and enjoys playing multiple instruments.  Of course,  the loss of his dad will be a tremendous void in his life as he already deeply misses his dad’s company and encouragement.

<div>Soon after SJ learned of his dad’s passing,  he was almost ready to give up his musical aspirations and had to be lovingly encouraged to continue.  We know that Sammy would want nothing else for him because he lived to support and uplift his son.

<div>Unfortunately, Sammy left suddenly and was without life or burial insurance.
</div>

<div>We are including a few pictures of Sammy, SJ, my mother and other family members.

<div>Sammy would want nothing less than for SJ to continue to develop his talents and fulfill God’s purpose for his life.
