Asking for donations to cremate a rabbit may seem like nonsense at first glance, but please hear me out. This is Abigail. She passed away Sunday, Feb 16th due to old age. She was 10+ years old. Her actual age is unknown since she was already an adult when we brought her home. She has been a part of our family for 9 years, a constant in my children's lives since they were very little (pictured). She has been with us through so much, from moving back in with my parents, renting our trailer, to buying our own home.
Normally, my little family would just have a small funeral at home to say our goodbyes and lay her to rest in our backyard. Unfortunately, that is not an option since the ground is completely frozen. My children would be devastated and would never forgive me if we put her in a dumpster. It's just not an option. She's more than just a rabbit; she is our family.
I have never asked for a handout. I have never even considered making a GoFundMe before, but I am at a loss on how to afford a proper goodbye.
Our house payment doubled on us this year, unexpectedly, and we are also expecting a new baby girl this March, so we are stretched completely thin. We are already struggling and trying our best to get through the financial struggles we are facing. Even our taxes are already spent, and we haven't even received them yet. $300 to cremate Abigail is something we can't make happen on our own. Especially with this being so unexpected. We need your help; my kids deserve a proper goodbye for the pet they've had with them for 9 years. I feel like a failure, but for Abigail and my kids, I have to ask for help.
Thank you for taking the time to read this. Anything and everything helps.
