The summer hours should've been spent on hanging out with friends, playing video games, skateboarding and eating all the junk food possible. But for my 14 yr old child, this was not her reality... her summer was more of a nightmare.

Before I get into the reason for this campaign, let me introduce you to "My Jay" (that's what Jay prefers to be called by me).

Jay is a non-binary amazingly spirited, fun-loving person!! Since Jay was a small child Jay has always been the "BRAVEHEART " of our family. Jay has always marched to a different beat and never shying away from a new adventure. Jay loves playing videos games and riding skateboards with their best-friend. Jay is an amazing athlete, excelling in basketball and enjoys hiking. Jay is such a quiet laid back soul that always makes a point to see the good in people, before anything else. Jay has donated their time to help their mother serve undeserved population with items like food, clothing, toiletries and a host of others items. Jay's smile is both angelic and contagious. Jay is one of a kind.

SO, WHY DO WE NEED YOUR HELP?

About a month ago, a older woman was assaulted by two juveniles. These juveniles and several other older individuals (15-20yrs old) are the cause of so much daily turmoil in the neighborhood. This is why Jay thought they were doing the "RIGHT THING" by helping "the Neighborhood Mother" seek justice in her case. After speaking with the police and assisting how she could, Jay began to receive DEATH THREATS and THREATS OF VIOLENCE.

The threats of violence, unfortunately, was nothing new to Jay because they have been getting BULLIED and ASSAULTED for most of her teenage years. The bullying ranges from comments about their sexual identity, their appearance, their loc'd hair, their skin tone and the fact that Jay is a skateboarder.

To "safely" enjoy their desired activities, Jay and their best-friend go outside daily to workout, skateboard, ride bikes and exercise at the local school after dark. On the night in question, while going to skateboard, Jay and their best friend was FOLLOWED by a group of older teenagers in a car. Once the group made contact with Jay and their best-friend, they began to THREATEN TO KILL THEM, BEAT THEM UP AND THE "LEADER" EVEN BRANISHED A GUN. The pair feared for their safety and Jay called her older sister for help.

After being threatened, called racial and sexual slurs and being assaulted by over 13 individuals (all older than 15 yrs old and all Caucasian), Jay was left with a decision...to PROTECT their lives or ALLOW these people to KILL THEM.

Bullying is NOT OK!!! Violence is NOT OK!!! VIOLATION OF CONSTITUTIONAL RIGHTS IS NOT OK!!!

BUT WHAT WOULD YOU DO IF YOU WERE SURROUNDED? OUT NUMBERED? SCARED FOR YOUR LIFE? WHAT IF YOU HAD TO FIGHT BECAUSE THE FLIGHT OPTION WAS REMOVED? WHAT WOULD YOU DO???

Are you thinking that this is CRAZY? Are you thinking that this COULD BE your KID? Guess what... YOU'RE CORRECT!!! BULLYING MUST END!!

We NEED your HELP!!! WE ARE FIGHTING to SAVE JAY'S LIFE IN COURT & NEED SOME FINANCIAL SUPPORT!!!

Due to legal reasons, we can't tell you much more... but please KNOW that the REAL criminals aren't going through the HELL that they caused my 14 year old child...MY JAY!!
