Help Us get 2 Jr NBA Tourney

Southwest Louisiana Hoopers, a basketball program located in Elton, Louisiana has been offered a bid to play in the Inaugural year of the Jr NBA World Championships South Regionals to be played June 15 - 17 in Frisco, Texas and they need your help.


The Jr NBA Championship features a world stage representing 8 Regions throughout the United States and 8 International Championships.  The winners from each of these 16 Regions will play in the World Championship at Disney World in August. The World Championship Games will be televised on Fox Sports in front of a Global audience.

The Elton based Hoopers is a team of local boys who have played together since they were as young as five years old.  They are also members of the four time state champion winning Little Dribblers team representing Elton, as well as members of the Elton Junior High Basketball Team. Not only are they talented basketball players, they are a group of intelligent young men whose average GPA is a 3.5!


In addition to the bid to the Jr NBA Nationals, the Hoopers have received a bid to the USA Open Basketball Midwest Championships at Pacers Fieldhouse in Indiana in mid- July.  USA Basketball is the organization that oversees the US Olympic Basketball team. In addition to these highly sought after tournament bids, the Hoopers will also travel to Dallas again at the end of July for the Primetime National Basketball Championship Games, where they’ve competed for the past two summers. These tournaments offer these young men invaluable exposure for their future basketball goals.  


Bids to these tournaments must be earned through placing in other tournaments and theseyoung men have worked hard against older and bigger teams from large cities.  The players on the teams they compete against are often hand picked from
the elite players in cities like Dallas, Houston, Baton Rouge and New Orleans.  Elton is a very small rural, farming community in SWLA. These boys from this small town have a lot of heart.


The Hoopers organization never requires that the parents pay any fee.  They do require that the players actively participate in fund raising and that they keep their grades up.  This organization not only works on their basketball skills, they also teach these young men mental and physical discipline, focus, dedication and commitment.  They emphasize service and appreciation for their community above all.


The team’s motto is “Hard Work Pays Off” and the work these young men put in is evident on and off the court.


Your donation will help defray the travel costs for these National tournaments; assist with equipment and uniform expenses; tournament fees; and practice facility usage fees.  All donations go directly to program operation- all staffing is volunteers and player’s family.

Sponsorship Levels


Rookie Level- $25 - sponsorship at this level feeds a player for a day.


MVP - $50- sponsorship at this level covers the cost of fuel for traveling.


All Star- $100- sponsorship at this level helps pay for a team hotel room for a night.


Hall of Fame- $250- sponsorship at this level helps cover tournament fees.
