THE BETTY - THE FILM

Set in an alternate reality, “THE BETTY” tells a story of an unlikely group of heroes accepting their destiny to stop a returning evil from destroying humanity. This story follows Alonzo, the hunter, Kasia Landen, the billionaire psychic, and Aiko AKA Short Round, the quirky hacker and badass martial artist, as they set on a journey to save humanity from being infected by disease-carrying monsters known as Hellions. The Betty is an elegant love letter to classic science fiction and horror. It is inspired by classics such as Dirty Harry, Bullitt, Big Trouble In Little China, Indiana Jones, Blade, Robocop, and Flash Gordon.

"Something we were extremely conscious of while writing "THE BETTY" was the set design and the practical effects. That is where production designer Devin Dahl comes in. It has been exciting building with her on how to approach specific aesthetics and practical effects for the film. We told her how we wanted to hearken back to classic sci-fi and fantasy cinema that utilized practical filmmaking. Through the style of the film, we pay homage to different past eras of cinema, so it was crucial we got someone who understood vintage styling and apparel.
