Here's a little bit about the film:

LICHEN is a short environmental drama by 6 Final Year Swinburne University Students as a graduate film piece for our course. LICHEN follows a park ranger who discovers the critical levels of toxic air pollution surrounding his park, and must devotedly try to both warn the public of the danger and expose the industry responsible for it.

PLOT:

When Anthony discovers large areas of decaying lichen in his national park, he knows there’s something critically wrong with the area quality.

After testing some samples he finds that the damage is caused by sulphur dioxide - an extremely toxic gas and a prominent offset of brown coal burning.

Determined to protect his community and his National Park from the toxic emissions from a local brown-coal burning plant, Anthony sets his mind on getting an article published in a credible and popular Australian magazine.

But the defamation of Victoria’s largest energy provider is not a risk the publishers take lightly - Anthony must convince them of the importance of his story, or witness the fatal consequences of toxic air pollution firsthand.

BUDGET OVERVIEW:

As a group we are trying to raise $6000 for actors, location hiring, accomodation for the cast and crew, equipment hire, food and supplies for the shoot, transport costs and money to offset our carbon footprint.
