On February the 22nd of 2021, my sister and I’s lives changed forever. We lost our father unexpectedly and it broke our hearts. He was 57 and still had so much of his life to live.
Losing him was one of the hardest challenges life has ever thrown our way, but we are comforted by the golden memories we have of him. The lessons he taught us, the laughs we shared, the love we had for him. He taught us to be strong in times of hardship. He was an amazing father.
In 1994, he started building his dream home in the countryside. He slowly built it from the ground up, with little help from others and, 26 years later, it still needs a lot of work. He left us his house, providing us with a safety net and protecting us even after he is gone. We’d like to finish it in his honour and follow through with his unfinished plans.
We would like to raise some funds to help us finish with the essentials: The house needs stairs, a new front door, sockets and wiring, skirting boards and windowsills, furniture, interior paint, some walls still need to be plastered, etc.
We are lucky to have the helping hands and support of friends and family which is helping a lot.
