Help us find justice and make our community safer

Austin Schwartz is a kind and smart young man. He has a bright future, with dreams of joining the military and serving his community. In an instant, that future was put at risk.
Austin and his family were driving to an out of town wedding when a boulder shattered the windshield of their vehicle and crashed into Austin. A normal evening turned into a nightmare - blood, broken glass, screaming. It was the type of freak accident every person fears when they get behind the wheel. Only it wasn't an accident. Up above the rows of cars, someone threw the boulder off the East McIver Road overpass hitting the Schwartz vehicle and others.
Almost a week after the incident, Austin is still in the hospital. He is facing a long recovery involving surgery and the risk of losing an eye. He and his family's life has been put on hold. And yet, as they pray for his safe recovery, the people who made the life changing decision to throw that boulder have gone unidentified. They are out in the Florence, SC community free to hurt someone else. And that is where we need your help.
We started this GoFundMe to fundraise a reward for any information leading to the identification of the individual or individuals who were involved in this incident. Austin's family and friends want justice and to make sure something like this doesn't happen to another family. If you have any information to share, please submit a tip to Darlington County Sheriff’s Office at 1-888-274-6372 or reach out directly to me via GoFundMe.
If the perpetrator is not identified, all funds will be donated to Emergency Medical Services in the Darlington/Florence community. We truly appreciate any support you can offer - even $5 or $10 will make a difference. While we hope this fundraiser will help bring justice to Austin, no matter what, your donation will be going to a good cause and will help support a safe community. If you cannot donate, please consider sharing with your friends and family to raise awareness and help us find the perpetrator.
