<div>But after only 11 months, the landlord notified us that he won't be able to renew our lease. His homeowner's insurance policy was recently canceled, and he's unable to find a new carrier. Add to that, Hurricane Milton came through and caused damage to his other properties.

<div>He offered to sell us the townhouse, but we're not in a position to put a down payment on a home. We're not in a position to do <em>anything</em> involving Big Cash Commitments. Including moving.

<div>Yet, that's exactly what we have 45 days to accomplish. We have to find a new place to live, get all of our deposits in order, get moving boxes, a moving truck... all by 11/30/24.

<div>We are, sadly, the typical 'one paycheck away from disaster' family. It's just me and my son, but he's been unable to find a job since we moved here last December. Hurricane Milton wiped us out, forcing us to dip into what little cash we had available simply to eat.

<div>On top of this, I work from home. So if we lose our home, we lose the one income we have.
</div>

<div>Our primary goal is to simply find a new place to live. Our 'stretch goal' is to get out of Florida and away from hurricanes altogether.
