Help Us FILTER Through

A Note From Jill & James

Main street businesses are the frontline to the world’s economy.

In the 14 months since FILTER Coffee Parlor opened it’s doors in our beloved Five Points South community, we have felt nothing but love and support from our resident and business community. Our vision to make FILTER a community hub is at the forefront of what we do as a family run business. Our team is small but mighty in their standards and service to everyone who walks in our door.

During this time of uncertainty for us all, the effects COVID-19 are no doubt having significant effects on service businesses now and for the future. All of us as a community will need each other and find ways to support those around us. Specifically, we know that helping now can ensure we sustain small businesses who will continue to be the heartbeat of their communities, especially here in Five Points South.

Since March 15, our team took temporary leave to be home safe with their families, who are both college students who lived on campus at UAB. James and myself began offering grab-n-go and curb side service only, but we know our operating hours will become more limited and face possible temporary closure. We look forward  to the day when we are back up to business with our team of baristas. In the short term, we are seeking funding to ensure fixed costs are met with the impact of lost business presented in March and projections for April and potentially through July. We intend to use these funds for covering fixed costs, utilities, COGS and team payroll from March through July.

We want to bridge our gap to ensure we continue serving you post-COVID-19.

We will FILTER on!  “Every step back is a chance for a comeback.”

FILTER UP!
Today we are asking for help. Spare what you can through this GoFundMe .

May we all find patience, strength, and opportunities to care for each other during this time. Communities like ours are strong and we are grateful to serve you.  We will FILTER Through Birmingham.

Thanks,

FILTER – Coffee Parlor
(Jill, James and Ruby)
