Help us fight Retinoblastoma!

Hello, my name is Kirsten and I have a son whose name is Lucas Patrick. He just made 6 months old and was just diagnosed on 6/23/22 with Retinoblastoma behind his right eye. We are being sent this next week to CHLA in Los Angeles to receive a consultation and possibly begin his treatments. With this type of cancer, the faster you treat the better outcome!

I noticed about a month ago that when the light reflected in his face, his right eye had a glow like in the cover photo. That was because his red reflex is being affected due to his retinas being pushed forward by the tumor.

I work full time in pediatrics as a medical assistant and unfortunately I do not qualify for any leave time since I haven’t been there long since I started after taking time off for maternity leave. So because of this I’ll have to go back and forth if they keep him there for his treatments. My mom who is retired will stay while I come home for the weekdays to work and the plan is I will go up 3 days a week.

I hate to ask for money from people and especially people I don’t know but I could use any and all help if possible! Mahalo
