Help Us Donate PPE to Frontline Heroes

On March 17, one of our friends, Dr. Jie Hall, reached out to us from Florida’s Wellington Medical Center, asking if we could help with PPE (personal protective equipment). Her Respiratory Care department was treating severe COVID-19 patients and was running critically low on protective gowns and face masks. We immediately began contacting our network of suppliers—four days later Dr. Hall had a small shipment of 3M protective gowns and 3M N95 masks. This was the beginning of our effort to donate PPE to our frontline heroes.
Our group, Pandemic Responders, is a team of doctors, researchers and volunteers with specific experience in both medical equipment compliance and supply chain management. Our expertise means our materials are FDA cleared and our shipments arrive in days, not weeks. Your donations enable us to purchase and deliver these critical supplies quickly. Each day hundreds of nurses, doctors, and first responders are becoming infected with COVID-19 as they care for the sick. This is because they are not getting the protective gear that they need, even with the big procurement effort by government. You can find more about the PPE shortage in the recent Vox article. We are helping bridge any gaps while larger government initiatives are being rolled out so that our healthcare workers can stay safe.
We delivered over 440,000 pieces of PPE to hospitals in China from January to February. Since mid-March, we have delivered over 10,000 surgical masks and over 3,000 N95 masks to medical facilities across the US.
Every dollar counts. Here are some rough estimates of how far your donations will go:

$50 - 50 surgical masks
$100 - 500 pairs of surgical gloves
Pandemic Responders is a new nonprofit in the process of securing 501(c)(3) status. OUR GOAL
In the short term we are hoping to raise $30,000 to deliver protective gear to hospitals and other facilities in need. Right now we have located 5,000 3M N95 9010 masks and 100,000 medical gloves ready to be shipped and delivered - we just need to raise the money to make that happen. We started at Boston, New York, Los Angeles, Seattle, and now expanded to Houston, Chicago and Phoenix.
We have already delivered over 10,000 masks in the US. We will continue purchasing and distributing PPE as long as donations keep coming in. We would love to achieve the benchmark of 1 million PPE acquired and delivered.

How is your effort different from federal and state government trying to procure supplies?
Hospitals and government agencies are trying their best to procure masks. However, demand for PPE far outreaches current supply in the US. In addition, government-level procurement is facing major obstacles and delays due to lack of coordination, bureaucracy and political issues. We are fortunate to have close relationships with many of the factories producing FDA-cleared masks in China. To speed up delivery, we order supplies in smaller batches and deliver them quickly to medical and emergency facilities in need. We hope to bridge any gaps while larger government initiatives are being rolled out so that our frontline heroes can stay safe.
